Restaurant Cassis opened in Aomori, which is the northernmost city of Honshu (the main island of japan) and an important area, with an airport and good highway and railway connections.
We use high-quality ingredients and local vegetable of Aomori, and we offer carefully prepared high-quality yet casual dishes. In our space, you can enjoy generous sunlight that comes through our large glass window in daytime, and refined atmosphere with delicate and warm lighting in the evening. It has different characters depending on the time of the day.
You can enjoy dishes from the à la carte menu that suit your mood, or have a full-course meal on important occasions. Please enjoy our dishes in the way you like.

Message from Our Chef

You are interested in "French" restaurants, but you feel that they are too exclusive.
I'm sure many of you have such an impression. However, our restaurant strives to become a relaxing place where each customer can enjoy in his/her own way.
We are working to make our restaurant the place where you can feel "I want celebrate each small good thing in life at Restaurant Cassis". For instance meeting friends, treat for your children, and many other situations that involve those small good things that brighten our lives.


Profile of the Owner Chef Shinsuke Kusano

After graduating from the culinary institute, he worked at several restaurants in Tokyo including "Hibiya Matsumotoro" and "Blue Note Tokyo". At the age of 30, he went to France for a year to train at Michelin star restaurants around the country.
After returning from France, he worked as the chef of a restaurant in Tokyo while planning the move to Aomori. In September 2017, he opened "Restaurant Cassis" in Matsumori, Aomori.
